Stunning Makarska riviera - mountains in the background and the sea at hand

Stunning Makarska riviera - mountains in the background and the sea at hand

A place of unique beauty!

It stretches for 45 km between Brela and Gradac, has a fantastic view of the islands of Brac, Hvar and Korcula and the Peljesac peninsula; it has the Biokovo Mountain Range behind itself and the turquoise Adriatic Sea at hand: that is the Makarska Riviera.

With the imposing Biokovo Mountain Range in the background, this stretch of coast offers a grand contrast to the sea. Only places like Baska Voda, Makarska, Tucepi and Drvenik interrupt the rocky, unspoilt coastline, which is adorned with the green of pine trees.

This part of the Croatian coast is peppered with beautiful beaches that you should definitely visit if you have booked one of our villas in Dalmatia.

The pebble beach "Punta Rata" in Brela has become famous, among other things, for its boulder that lies in the shallow sea. Pine trees grow out of it and defy nature. In the meantime it has become the symbol for Brela and the beach has received several international awards.

The “Ramova” beach near Makarska is ideal for families with small children. The gently sloping sandy pebble beach, the shadow of the pine trees in the background and a few cafes and restaurants nearby ... these are the advantages that you can enjoy here as a family.

At Zivogosce, north of Drvenik, you will find the dream beach "Velika Duba”. A narrow white strip of gravel between crystal clear sea and lush green, a real feast for the eyes and the place where you can relax for hours ... what more could you want?

Tucepi, on the other hand, boasts with 4 beaches of around 4 km in length. This small tourist resort has made every effort to ensure that its families feel at home here. A long walk along the beaches, pedal boat rentals, water slides, lots of natural shade and the flat pebble beach leave nothing to be desired.

Families will love Baska Voda for its "Nikolina" beach: clean, crystal-clear sea in a variety of shades of blue, sandy pebble beach, shady spots under pine trees, a few cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as a range of activities ...

Makarska Riviera offers more than just the beach ...
Nature lovers and hikers will be caught up in the Biokovo Nature Park. Visit the botanical garden at the foot of the park or climb the mountains on marked trails. You will be rewarded with a fabulous view of the landscape, the sea and its islands. Old fortresses, forts and walls tell of times long past and only give a glimps of what happened here many years ago. Put on your hiking shoes, take provisions and go on a discovery tour!

On mild summer evenings, the towns along the Riviera invite you to stroll. Enjoy freshly prepared fish, eat an ice cream on a walk with the little ones and take part in one of the cheerful fishing festivals that take place here regularly.
All of these things characterise a relaxed and successful family vacation and you can find all of it right here on the 45km length of the Makarska Riviera. Enjoy it!
