Croatia now has 7 restaurants with Michelin stars to offer.
The Michelin brothers would have had their real joy in Croatia. Great country roads, magnificent villas and a seemingly endless selection of excellent restaurants.
But only the 7 best have truly earned the coveted star.
It would be surprising if at least one wasn't represented in the capital of Croatia.
The “Noel” is located in the heart of the city of Zagreb. Products
from the region, whether fish or meat, are freshly prepared here and cleverly staged using sophisticated technology. A mix of continental and Mediterranean cuisine meets a touch of France. Let yourself be surprised!
At
“Monte” in Rovinj you will experience
haute cuisine through almost theatrically creative culinary art. Incidentally, in
2017 the “Monte” was the first restaurant in Croatia to earn a star.
It is not unreasonable that Mediterranean cuisine predominates here, as this unique restaurant is located on the west coast of Istria. In connection with the Istrian truffles, the famous Boskarin beef, aromatic herbs and the excellent olive oil, it is a real culinary delight. The restaurant
“Draga di Lovrana” in Lovran should not be missed as a gourmet. Mediterranean cuisine with
Italian and French influences is presented here with a magnificent view and in a modern, creative and new way. With the sound of the sea and an excellent selection of wines, such a meal can certainly be enjoyed extensively.
Another Michelin star found its place on the
island of Pag. The restaurant “
Boskinac” makes maximum use of the island's resources and offers an
excellent selection of fish and seafood, the excellent, famous Pag cheese, olive oil and the ever-popular Pag lamb in an idyllic atmosphere. The menus are staged in an almost extravagant way and accompanied by exquisite in-house wines.
The
“Pelegrini” in Sibenik also obviously impressed the Michelin inspectors with quality across the board. Due to the history of the city,
influences from all over the world play a major role and allow the chefs to give free rein to their creativity. Here
traditional mediterranean cuisine is combined with modern techniques. The focus is on seasonal products, which supports local small business owners. If you have booked a
villa with pool in Dalmatia, Sibenik and the “Pelegrini” are certainly worth a visit.
If you get the chance to
experience Korcula, don't miss the “LD Restaurant”. Located on the promenade along the old city wall, you can enjoy
fresh fish, seafood, excellent olive oil and good wine with a beautiful view of the sea, the islets and the highest mountain on the Peljesac peninsula, Sv. Ilija. In this setting, the chef's creative menus, peppered with exotic details, really comes to expression.
The
seventh star is in fantastic Dubrovnik. The
“Restaurant 360” in the middle of the old town can decorate itself with this star. Surrounded by old city walls, towers and with a view of the sea and roofs of the city, it offers a magical scenery as it is cleverly lit at night.
Dishes, consisting of
fresh fish and mussels, combined with seasonal fruit and vegetables from local suppliers and prepared in a new, sophisticated way, presented in this ambience, have no choice but to taste delicious.
All 7 restaurants have earned the Michelin star and do their best every day to keep it. Hospitality, the love of cooking and enjoyment are paramount here and you can feel this in every single one of these restaurants.
