Idyllic stone villa in perfect harmony with nature
Set within beautifully landscaped grounds surrounded by wooded hills, fragrant forests, vineyards, olive groves and wheat fields of the magical Istrian countryside, this exceptional property can’t fail to impress. An old stone farmhouse was lovingly and tastefully restored with special attention to health, environmental and energy issues without losing any of its delightful original character.
On these very ideas the concept of the whole house relies and these ideas are reflected in each and every corner of this gorgeous property. Thus, for the reconstruction and insulation of the house only natural, locally sourced materials such as stone, wood and sheep wool were used ensuring pleasant temperature throughout, while the hot water and heating are provided using exclusively solar and wood energy. The accommodation is spread across two floors, with two bedrooms on the ground floor, one on the mezzanine and two on the first floor of the “old” wing, each of them perfectly styled with traditional antique furniture and oak flooring, as well as added benefit of flat screen TVs and modern ensuite bathrooms. The new wing boasts a beautiful open plan lounge and dining room with a fully fitted kitchen and floor to ceiling windows that bring the light flooding in and offer guests a fabulous view over the villa’s glorious gardens and the countryside beyond. However lovely the interior, it’s clear that this very pretty home has also been designed to embrace the great outdoors and make the most of the wonderful climate here. The outside terrace offers a cosy alfresco dining area as well as a gas barbecue and the beautiful infinity pool is as inviting for a quiet early morning dip as for a cooling splash around in the heat of the day. With the gardens simply bursting with plants of all shapes and sizes and plenty of incredible walks to enjoy in the area, the exceptional Villa Paljari is guaranteed to offer you a very special pampering holiday.
Danci is a small village just 2 km away from the beautiful small town of Vizinada, isolated from its bustle, but still integrated into all the events in the town. The centre of the town can be also easily reached on foot or by biking along the Parenzana which is probably the most beautiful bike lane in Istria. You can witness one of the most beautiful views of the Green and Blue Istria from the hill rising above the Mirna valley if you visit this small town. Walking along the streets of this town you will surely be enchanted by the smell of the cakes during the manifestation Slatka Istra ‘Sweet Istria’. On the sole peak of the hill there is the sanctuary of God’s Field and the Gothic church of St. Mary from the 15th century with the stone head on the façade which, according to the legend, represents Attila the leader of the Huns. In the 19th century a famous ballerina Carlotta Grisi danced in the streets of this beautiful town rich with Istrian dialects. Vižinada is also mentioned in one of the novels written by the French writer Jules Verne. Car is recommended.
