There is a story that an infamous 17th-century pirate captain, Sir Henry Morgan, after he plundered the Caribbean sailed all the way to the Lim Bay which resides beneath the Mrgani village and hid his treasure there. This more than a century old remodelled villa still carries the spirit of the old captain with its stone exterior walls, and purposely exposed brick and mortar interior walls, oak beams and antique decor and furniture.

Mrgani is a small village overlooking a famous Istrian geological landmark - Lim Bay, and a few kilometres outside the coastal city of Rovinj. This peaceful and relaxing area is surrounded by lush green fields and forests, away from major busy tourists hotspots, yet close by if you wish to explore them. Rovinj is only 30 minutes away by car, and you will enjoy every minute driving through scenic hilly areas. As you approach the city of Rovinj you will be stunned by the sheer beauty of it, especially during sunsets when you can see different coloured houses scattered over the hilly peninsula where the ancient core of the city still lies, surrounded by the warm summer evening sky and a clear blue sea. Rovinj is truly a romantic city. Take a walk through narrow old cobbled streets that slowly go up to the top of the hill where you will find an old 10th century Church of St. Euphemia. From the church plateau, there is a nice view, but if you go to the top of the high church tower, you will be amazed by a clear view that spans over the whole city and surrounding area and goes for miles. In Rovinj, you can expect many wonderful restaurants and bistros that will fill every gastro enthusiasts needs. If you want to explore the wider Istrian area, everything is well connected by many roads, so you can take many day trips exploring both inland and coastal cities like Pula, Groznjan, Vodnjan, Motovun, Porec, Novigrad and of course there are boat trips to beautiful Brijuni national park.

Die Stadt (Rovinj) war ziemlich genau 30 min mit dem Auto entfern. Dort gab es echt alles was das Herz begehrt.
