Both the town of Pula and charming Medulin are within easy reach. Medulin is regarded as one of the best bathing resorts in Istria. The most famous of all Roman monuments in Pula, the starting and ending point of every sightseeing tour is the Amphitheater, popularly called the Arena of Pula, which was once the site of gladiator fights. It was built in the 1st century AD during the reign of Emperor Vespasian, at the same time as the magnificent Colosseum in Rome. Today it is the venue for summer performances - the Film Festival, Opera Season, Equestrian Festival, concerts and theatre performances. The underground passages, once used by the gladiators, nowadays host regular exhibitions. It is not just cultural monuments that this part of Istria abounds with, but it is rich with natural beauties as well. Cape Kamenjak is a nature park located on the southernmost part of the Istrian peninsula, just a short drive away from the villa. You can spend a day in this beautiful nature park exploring little coves and swimming in the clear sea.
