Potpican is a small town in central Istria. The city is built around the Pazin Castle, the largest and best-preserved medieval fortress in Istria, built in the year 983. Under the castle walls in Pazin, the chasm river Pazincica ends its run above the ground and continues like an underground stream. It`s a place you can explore, as there is a path that goes to the bottom of the chasm, and for those looking for an adrenaline rush, there is a zip line attraction running over the chasm. Labin is situated just 5 km inland, on the hill overlooking Rabac coastline, and it was first settled during the 3rd century. Today it is a spot blooming with culture and history, filled with many bustling art ateliers. While you are there be sure to visit a Sculpture Park in nearby Dubrova that features over 70 forma viva stone sculptures. Rabac is a coastal tourist town known for its beautiful beach and filled with many amazing restaurants that will fill every gastro and vine lover need. The Istrian peninsula is well connected by roads, so major coastal cities like Pula, Rovinj and Porec are only an hour away by car, so you can easily plan day trips and explore their rich history, and many hidden beauties.
