Beautiful stone villa with pool in Groznjan

Groznjan is a small town in Istria, Croatia that offers spectacular views across hills blanketed with vineyards, hamlets and farmhouses, and the magical Mirna Valley. Groznjan is a municipality as well as a beautiful medieval town. It is known as “The artist village”. In the warm summer months, the town comes to life and becomes one of the most important cultural centres in Croatia. Numerous galleries as well as ateliers can be found in the town. Every year at the end of July the jazz festival “Jazz is back!” takes place as well as the festival “Ex Tempore” at the end of September, when more than 300 artists from all over Europe gather in the town to exhibit their art works. Central Istria is also famous for local Malvasia and Teran grapes, virgin olive oil, home-made cheeses, prosciutto, barbecued meats, and of course truffles, all of which can be sampled in restaurants within the many villages and towns of the area. There are numerous hiking and cycling trails, one of the most stunning of them being the historical Parenzana. The main coastal resorts of Umag, Novigrad and Porec, quickly reached along excellent roads, provide extremely varied leisure facilities, good nightlife, bars and restaurants.
