Feeling adventurous? Visit Istria and have the time of your life!

Learn more about activities that will make every adventurer’s heart beat a little faster.

Crystal clear sea, secluded bays, picturesque harbor towns, romantic mountain villages and perhaps the best olive oil in the world: Istria, Croatia's northernmost peninsula, will immediately get your attention. Beside relaxing holidays, Istria also has many adventures to offer, which we would like to introduce to you. Discover and enrich your holiday with a variety of new adventurous experiences.

Tandem paragliding

Experience magical Istria from the air. In the beautiful city of Motovun you can experience tandem paragliding without any prior knowledge. After a 15-minute briefing, you can fly with a well-trained instructor for 30 minutes, which is the easiest and safest way to experience the thrill of paragliding. In addition, you will be rewarded with a magnificent view that will keep you amazed a long time. All you need are sports shoes and a long-sleeved jacket. It could not be easier!

Free climbing

Istrian rocks full of obstacles challenge both top athletes as well as beginners.
Climbing has a long tradition in Istria, but it was only towards the end of the 20th century that the systematic development of new routes throughout the peninsula began.

Apart from the untouched nature, which is more and more appreciated by free climbers, the rocks are mostly oriented to the south, so that climbers can wear short sleeves even in colder weather. Istria offers many attractive climbing areas, such as Zlatni Rt (Park Golden Cape) near Rovinj, the Lim bay, Dvigrad, Istarske Toplice, Raspadalica above Buzet, Vranjska Draga near the Ucka tunnel, Vintijan near Pula and some amazing places around Pazin!

Kayak and canoe

The rugged coastline along Cape Kamenjak in southern Istria and the Mirna River have one thing in common: they provide a magnificent scenery and perfect conditions for kayak and canoeists of all abilities. No matter if you are a beginner renting boats on site or an experienced paddler with an own boat…everybody will find the ideal offer.
The river Mirna is the longest and most water-rich river in istria and when the water level is favorable, the length of the paddling route is about 35 km. Mirna roams the mountain, on which the picturesque town of Motovun sits on top, before the watercourse turns to a long straight channel.

At Cape Kamenjak, on the other hand, you can combine paddling with visits to various islands, snorkelling on the coast, visiting an underwater cave or gazing at dinosaur tracks on the island of Fenoliga.

Cave exploration in Baredine

The cave in the Jama Baredine is for anyone who wants to have an interesting experience below the surface of the earth. Take on the role of a speleologist for a day and enter the world of stalactites and stalagmites with lamplights and speleological equipment. The tour offered is for amateurs, which means that a caving experience is not necessary. The required equipment is provided to you, you only have to bring solid footwear. Be sure to plan enough time for this excursion, as the guided tour takes between 3.5 and 5 hours.

Adventure park Glavani

The Glavani park is located in the inland of Istria, between Vodnjan and Barban. The high ropes course has three routes and several other attractions.
The routes are filled with interesting attractions, for instance there is a 11m high swing or a 35m high unicycle track. There is also the 12-meter-high climbing wall, the 20-meter-high QuickJump tower and, as the ultimate challenge, the "human catapult", with which you can fly 75 meters in one second, thanks to mounted bungee ropes. For the youngest visitors, the park even offers an animal park with goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits and cats and dogs, of course.
