Take a stroll along the beautiful dog friendly beaches in the Kvarner Bay!

Take your best friend on an adventure along the glorious Kvarner Bay

If you are a proud dog owner this is a region you should definitely not miss out as it is widely known as the top pet friendly destination in Croatia. To help you in your holiday planning, we've made a list of the official pet-friendly beaches in the Kvarner Bay starting from west to east, including the islands of course. For each of them there are plenty of fabulous wild beaches where you can take your pooch. So, just pack your beach stuff and be sure not to forget your favourite dog toys – you and your furry friend(s) will have a time of your life :

The charming fishing village of Moscenicka Draga has a completely enclosed dog beach with extra facilities like dog washing station and doggy waste bins. Be sure, however to bring a sun umbrella, as it has no natural shade and is rather small, so it gets crowded quite easily.

Punta kolova – this pebble beach is located between Opatija and Icici just below the coastal promenade.
Beach in Lovran below the Villa Frappart just under the coastal promenade is also a pebble beach with plenty of shady spots.
Slatina Beach is a fine gravel beach within a short walking distance from the famous luxury hotels of this prestigious region.
These beautiful places are not far from our dog-friendly villas in Opatija, making it easy to choose the perfect base for your holiday.

Crikvenica Riviera

The best ranked official dog friendly beach in Croatia is definitely the Podvorska Beach in the town of Crikvenica. The beach is covered with fine gravel, sloping gently into the sea making it ideal also for families with small children. The lack of natural shade on the very beach is compensated by colourful sunshades and there is also a dog washing station and doggy waste bins with bag dispensers. The beach is backed by a spacious lawn area where our four-legged friends can roam free after a refreshing dip in the emerald blue sea. Plenty of tourist facilities are available nearby too including a designated dog bar, catering and sports facilities, a children playground and a tennis court, changing rooms, public toilets and deck-chairs rental.

Mala Draga Cove in Novi Vinodolski is a lovely natural pebble and stone beach, suitable also for families with small children due to its gentle sea access. The very popular Padova Beach offers a dog friendly area as well. This long and narrow beach consists of pebbled, concrete, rocky and stony sections including a barrier-free access. It has a beach café, a restaurant and a pizzeria but also rentable paddle boats, sun chairs and parasols.
