In many respects, Makarska Riviera is the perfect holiday destination, offering not only some of Croatia's most beautiful beaches but also a sublime climate with an average in 2750 hours of sunshine per year. The landscape is quite simply a photographer’s dream, with rich pinewoods and the stunning Biokovo Mountain towering above the glorious coastline. By choosing our villas in Makarska this destination becomes even more special.

Running from Brela in the north to Gradac in the south, the Riviera is 60 kilometres long, with 16 coastal towns, intertwined with small and large coves and picturesque pebble beaches, such as the famous Punta Rata, Velika Duba and Nugla. It centres on the lively resort town of Makarska, with its lovely main square overlooked by the Baroque Church of St Mark and several elegant palazzi built by wealthy local merchants. Through summer Makarska’s main square is filled with open-air restaurants and cafés, while behind the church the daily open-air market sells fresh seasonal fruit and vegetables. Here is also the Franciscan monastery that houses the renowned shell museum. Along the harbour, overlooked by a beautiful palm-fringed promenade with trendy cafés, bars and boutiques, excursion boats offer one-day trips to the surrounding islands.

Local festivals add a little spice to life, especially in the summer with events such as the Klapa choirs summit and “ka Kultura u tučepskim zaseocima” that enables visitors to enjoy the rich tradition as well as local gastronomy.

With mountains, sea and rivers side by side, the Makarska Riviera is also a perfect playground for adventure enthusiasts. And whichever activity you decide to choose while staying in one of our holiday villas in Makarska, the experience will be an unforgettable one.
